Born in London in 1969, Nick Turpin studied for a degree at The University of Westminster leaving in 1990 to join the staff of The Independent Newspaper. Nick left the newspaper in 1997 to pursue his passion for candid public photography financed by a second career in advertising and design photography in London and New York. In 2000 Nick founded the international street photographers group iN-PUBLiC which became a driving force in the popular resurgence of street photography. Nick has promoted his passion for street photography through teaching, publishing, film, TV and radio. Nick Turpin’s work focuses on public life in major cities.
